ABOUT ME
I live in Co. Fermanagh, N. Ireland where the beautiful, rugged landscape of lakes and mountains forms the backdrop and inspiration for much of my work.
My artwork has been exhibited in galleries in Belfast, Enniskillen, Limavady, Newcastle, and Bangor, Co Down.
I've been very fortunate to have had my poetry and short stories published in various journals in Ireland, the UK, and the USA, including The Honest Ulsterman, Boyne Berries, Rhythm of Hearts, Ireland’s Own, Crannog, Corncrake, the 2018 Highland Poetry Challenge anthology (USA), Curlew, North West Words, the Blue Nib Chapbook No5, the Seamus Heaney New Writing Award Anthologies Resonance 2018, Find 2019, and Vision 2020, and broadcast on local radio.
My debut novel, Wipe Out, was published by Roswell Press, an imprint of Sunbury Press, Pennsylvania in 2022. Wipe Out is the first book in a trilogy.
My debut poetry collection, This, Also, Is Mercy, was published by Summer Palace Press in 2021.
As a screenwriter, I’ve written five feature film scripts on commission and had two children’s dramas – “Coolaboola” (2001) and “You Looking at Me?” (2003) – broadcast on UK television’s Channel 4. My screenwriting awards include the EU New Media Talent Award for my script adaptation of the children's novel “Black Harvest” by Ann Pilling and I have been shortlisted for the Orange/Pathe Award and the Miramax Award.
